Nearby Hotels
In Zürich, all Hotels are nearby, but some of them particularly so. We can recommend:
Boutique Hotel Helvetia
Beautiful rooms, excellent beds, and a great restaurant too – with a view to our unconference venue, the Kraftwerk.
Motel One
Also right next to the venue, Motel One opened only about a year ago in a former post building. Check out the bar!
Guest Houses
There are a number of really good value guest houses. Three of them are in walking distance to the venue (albeit not really next door) and do have direct public transport connections.
Zum Guten Glück
This guesthouse is on Weststrasse, now a quiet neighbourhood street. Famous for waffles and icecream.
Kafi für Dich
Family friendly place next to Helvetiaplatz, only a few minutes from the Kraftwerk. Great cakes, breakfast and fresh food.
Youth Hostel Zürich
Switzerland’s largest youth hostel offers excellent services in various room categories. Love swimming in the lake? You can reach it in less than 10 mins walking.
Camping
There are at least two camping sites in reasonable distance to the venue (and the city).
Campingplatz Zürich
Fancy fish eatery and camping site right on the shores of Lake Zürich. It’s connected to Zürich’s excellent downtown public transport, but you might want to choose the walk along the lake. Among other things, they also offer ready-to-use nomad-style tents.
Campingplatz Sihlwald
Part of the Zürich Wilderness Park, this camping site is really out in the green – right up the river that also passes by Kraftwerk. An hourly train connection brings you to the train station right under Kraftwerk in little more than 30 minutes.
