Workshop: So You Think You Know Retrospectives?
Presenter: Corinna Baldauf
Time Slot: Wednesday 14:00 - 15:45
Zürich 1 & 2
Session Type: Long Form Workshop
Duration: 1 Hour 45 minutes
Themes: Retrospectives, Agile Practice, tutorial, facilitation
A shockingly high number of people think they know retrospectives while imagining a shared spreadsheet with 3 columns: “Went well”, “Not so good”, and “Do Differently”. That’s sad!
This workshop covers the Why? and How? of effective retrospectives – based on the 5 phases from “Agile Retrospectives” by Esther Derby and Diana Larsen. We’ll immediately try out concrete activities so that you experience what engaging activities feel like.
So if you think you know retrospectives but so far they weren’t convincing, come and re-check the basics. And if you’re a beginner, this workshop will enable you to run your first retrospective.
Speaker's Bios
Corinna Baldauf (aka @findingmarbles) has facilitated hundreds of retrospectives, starting in 2010. She has helped thousands to run better retrospectives via Retromat, her blog, books and the occasional workshop for a team. She also has non-retro-related interests, and suffice it to say that she’s a sucker for bad puns.
About the Program
This conference is different. We have a guiding theme, but we don't have a fixed program. You will create the program and agenda together at the event so that it emerge around your business needs and our theme.
Open Space Technology
Open Space that provides just enough structure to create the program, plan the outcomes, and design for participation — together.
Seed Sessions
'Seed Sessions' are an ALE tradition. They are a few prepared sessions and a daily keynote, which have been designed in advance to offer the seed germs of an idea for cultivation.
Power Transformance
Our theme is Power Transformance. It signals a basic shift in the power of our work environments using Lean and Agile principles to create change, renewal, and transformation.
